Ugh

Ever wondered what happens when you fling your camera out of your backpack, with a really heavy, really expensive lens attached to the front?  What if it lands on the lens and basically snaps it off!

This is what happens:

Until yesterday, this was my Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8 lens - which was basically my workhorse lens.  I use it for almost everything.  Ugh.

Fortunately, my new friend Jen Kroll has one for sale :)  So now the insurance company gets to replace this one so I'll have it for a wedding and a ton of portrait sessions next week.

Lesson - don't throw your lens out of the back of your car onto the pavement.
