A few weeks ago, a new friend of mine, Kelly (who you can read about on this blog here), asked me if I'd be willing to capture a very special event for their family. I've photographed a lot of weddings, but never before have I had the chance to capture the celebration of a couple that made it through 60 years of marriage. So of course I said yes when she asked if I would help photograph the surprise party they were planning for her grandparents!

Here are some of the images from today. Thanks Kelly for including me!

I think they look great for 60 years of marriage! They were completely surprised - had no idea what was happening.

I didn't take these photos :) But it was fun to watch the looks on their faces as they remembered all the friends who were there with them.

The head table.

The polka band :) They were very cool, I promise!

All the wine bottles had custom labels. I love the message.

Bernie's friend since Kindergarden was able to make the trip to surprise her. You should have seen these two dancing!

And of course there was cake!

Great party Kelly - thanks for including me!
